Dormobile roof / Sostre Dormobile

We wanted more room inside the bus and a better place for Teo to sleep than the front child cot. I was looking for a Dormobile top but it seemed impossible to find one... After some casualities I was going to Narbonne to pick up this top.

Voliem més espai a dins la furgo i un lloc millor on dormís en Teo que la llitera del davant. Estava al darrera d'un sostre Dormobile però semblava impossible... Després d'algunes casualitats em vaig trobar anant cap a Narbonne a buscar aquest sostre.

Vaig comprar un parell de llums de marxa enrera Hella a un paio de USA. Vaig comprar un pot de pintura vermella per vidre i vaig pintar una de les llums.

Converting coolbox to fridge (III)

Finally the conversion was done and installed the 'new' fridge to the westy. I wired cables from the coolbox to the 220V plug and to the engine compartment fr the 12V source. I'm plan adding a second battery for the fridge, the heater, interior lights and the 12V socket plug.

Finalment he acabat la conversió i he instal·lat la 'nova' nevera a la furgo. He tirat cables fins a l'endoll de 220V i fins al compartiment motor per la font de 12V. Tinc planejat instal·lar una segona bateria auxiliar per la nevera, la calefacció, les llums interiors i per l'endoll de 12V.

Clean hole for the ventilation. That's the only noticable exterior change.

Hacking the fridge box after lots of measurements... I wanted it the closer to the back as it could go not to loose too much space in the upper drawer.
Foradant la nevera després de mesurar molt i molt... Volia que quedés el més cap enrera possible per perdre el menor espai al calaix de sobre.

After doing a hole in the isolation material all the upper parts fitted perfectly...
Després defer el forat al porexpan el components encaixen a la perfecció...

Inside view... looks clean and nice. A trure shame that the original cooler was blue instead of white... :(

This is final setup... The upper case is a fan shroud that conducts the air through the fins and evacuates the heat to the exterior. In the end I only lost 4cm of space from the upper drawer.
Configuració finall... La carcassa de sobre és per conduïr l'aire a través de les aletes i evacuar la calor fora. Al final només vaig perdre 4 cm del calaix de sobre.

The fitting is really tight but it works!

Checking oil temp gauge / Comprovant rellotge de tª

As the gauge was from Moon Eyes (Classic Instruments) and the sender was VDO the gauge don't read well... So I decided to make the boiling water test.

After 5+ minutes of boiling water temperature was 99ºC and reading between 230F (110ºC) and 320F (160ªC)...

Com que el rellotge és de Moon Eyes (Classic Instruments) i la sonda de VDO no marca bé... Així que vaig decidir fer el test de l'aigua bollint.

Després de mé de 5 minuts bollint la temperatura estava estable a 99ºC i el rellotge marcava entre 110ºC i 160ºC...

99ºC... :)
